THE
PROCESS
1.
You will select a famous American personality. Remember, you may pick ANY
American you chose, alive or dead, from any walk of life- athletes, entertainers,
military heroes, etc. (If you need ideas, check out the )
2.
Use library resources (biographies, collective biographies, books about
that person's
job, encyclopedias, etc.) as well as internet sites (see resources page)
to gather
information. Gather basic biographical information (birth/death,
family,education,
etc. as well as information focusing on what he/she is famous for.
Make sure you find
at least one quality picture of your person. (Site the source of the picture)
3.
Use a graphic organizer (web, t-chart, outline) to help organize your information.
4.
After gathering information, you need to write an essay about your person's
life.
5.
Once you've gained a good understanding of your famous person, use your
essay to
create an interview. Write questions for your teacher to ask as the
interviewer, and
the answers your famous person would use.
6. Prepare an "outfit" to wear when you (as your famous person) are interviewed.
7. Get ready to become your famous person and be interviewed by the teacher.
